The 2010 Appalachian Film Festival is kicking off this April and looks to be the most exciting and cutting edge festival of independent filmmaking this area has ever seen!
April 9th the festival gets under way at Marshal University Smith Hall Room 154 the AFF brings you the following

April the 16th the festival moves to the Huntington Museum of Art, located at 2033 McCoy Road Huntington, West Virginia, for an evening of fundraising for Hospice of Huntington and the Huntington Museum of Art. Starting with a cocktail reception from 5:30PM – 6PM and then commencing with the short and micro films which will be judged by all in attendance for this years newest prize “Peoples Choice for Short Film.” The winner will be recognized at the main event the following week at the Keith Albee Theater. The evening will be emceed by the Herald Dispatches Dave Lavender as well as Sheila from the WKEE Morning Show. Tickets for the fundraiser are $15 per individual or $25 per couple. 10:00 PM (Special Presentation) Trash Humpers: This movie is a found VHS tape that someone buried in their backyard many years ago. It documents the days and nights of a small group of elderly peeping toms. The people on the tape also like to hump trash. They film each other doing terrible things. This tape seems as if it were made as an ode to vandalism. Very little is known about these people or where they came from, they seem to exist only on the margins and in the shadows of the American landscape. This tape crudely documents the shocking chaos and insanity of a group of true sociopaths, the likes of which have never been seen.

April 24th -- The festival concludes Saturday morning with a filmmakers roundtable discussion and breakfast with our special guest Jacob Young and brought to you by the West Virginia Film Office at 9 AM.
